Magic in the mountains & a perfect way to close the week
Glimmers from the week of February 17th
Your casual companion to the Sincerely, Soph weekly newsletter, filled with off the cuff updates & all the little moments that made me smile this past week.
The second week of February may have been a big grey gloom, but after taking time to check in with myself, recalibrate and work through some “feel good” hacks off of my Dopamine Menu, this past week finally brought the sun. Cue: “Tomorrow” from Annie the Musical.
The sun always rises
An intimate look into my mind, glimmers from the week of February 2nd & dopamine menu for getting out of a slump
As our time in Colorado comes to a close, I can’t help but smile and reflect on our time with so much gratitude for this month, the lessons learned and adventures had. We’ve gotten out of our comfort zone, embraced a beginners mindset, cultivated a bit more independence while Violet recovered from her injury (we’re up to 15 minute walks!), and we’ve thrown ourselves into the local community with open hearts.
I’ll do a deeper dive into what our month in the mountains has taught me in a later post, but for now, here are a few moments of magic from this past week.

I come to you once again with a humble appreciation of the Rockies, and a childlike sense of delight when I noticed these little eyes watching over us as we spent the afternoon cross country skiing.
As the sun sets, the animals come out to play. This visit to RMNP we were lucky enough to see an Elk sparring match that felt less like a battle and a lot more like two dogs play fighting to pass the time.
It felt as if the entire world had stopped in its tracks to soak in the early morning sky and the soft blue moon glow illuminating the snow dusted mountains.
A perfect sunset leading us home.
Do you have a gratitude practice? I’d love to hear of any moments of joy from this past week in the comments!
