I’m Soph(ia). A twenty-something, Gemini sun, psychology nerd, glimmer hunter and adventure seeker who is absolutely delighted to welcome you to this little corner of the internet.

After living in Chicago for the past decade, my boyfriend and I traded in the keys to a cozy two bedroom Avondale apartment for the keys to a Subaru, setting off on a road trip across the US with my twin flame/dog Violet in tow. Reminiscent of the days when people would send letters to friends and family while away on their travels, I wanted to create a space to share updates and reflections from the road, in the medium closest to my heart.

Whether it was my days as a fierce competitor of my Elementary School’s Reading Competition Team (actually nerdier than it sounds, if you can believe it), writing short stories on the family computer, devouring a memoir at a local coffee shop or churning out a massive brain dump via my daily Morning Pages, writing has always been how I make sense of myself and the world. Not to mention the fact that it’s just great fun.

Trevor: Beef Jerky, Chex Mix Bold & Corn Nuts

Sophia: Dot’s pretzels, a gas station deli sub or a Turkey Lunchable usually do the trick. But if we’re going through a drive-through I’m always getting a chicken noodle soup or cup of mashed potatoes.

Sophia: If you know me, you know that I have an undying love for the Pennsylvania founded gas station/convenience store/mecca of all things good and holy that is Sheetz and their MTO (Made to Order) subs. So much so that I have shamelessly emailed them multiple times asking (read: begging) them to come to Illinois. So far no such luck, but I am nothing if not persistent.

Trevor: Kwik Trip. Clean bathrooms, coffee & corn dogs. What more could you ask for?

Sophia: Either a DIY carpool karaoke session with the cheesiest 2000’s pop/hip hop playlist or working on my latest crochet/knitting project

Trevor: A mix of a good podcast (Crime Junkie & How I Built this are two favorites), and a Spotify Daily Mix (lots of Mt. Joy, Flipturn, Caamp, etc.)
